Pre valentine's day nails....

i know its kind of early, but i wanted something cute on my nails. this one will probably come off soon since my rhinestones never stay on that long.

leopard heart print nails.

Nail Polish Rack

ever since i got the nook from my bf, i've been youtubing at night for ideas and diy stuff. i came across one for a nail polish rack made from foam board and put together with a glue gun. here's the link to the one i watched: youtube. i was amazed. lol i recently took out my computer from my desk so that i could use my desk to paint my nails. i actually bought my foam board from joann's for only 1.99 since it was on sale. the size that i bought was a 21 by 30, i believe. it was a good size. if i wasn't going to make it fit into my desk, it would've held a lot more polishes. anyway, onto photos.

here's the before shot of my desk.

here's the after shot of the completed rack with shelf lining for the back drop. (its leftover from this post).
i was only able to make 4 shelves because my nail polishes were pretty tall, so really only 2 fit the polishes perfectly. the top shelf was for the small polishes that i had. the bottom was for the tallest and the nail art polishes.

here's what the completed rack looks like. i was only able to fit some not all of my polishes. these are the ones that i would most likely use the most.

i also had some foam board left over, so i made a nail brush holder and an extra container for other misc stuff. i'll take a photo of that later.

Goodies & Roses

over the weekend my bf & i stopped by my local goodwill. my intent was to look for a gray purse so that i could take the straps off and use it on my crocheted purse that i made, but i didn't find any. =( unfortunately, my bf's intent was to buy as much junk as he could. lol he ended up getting a few cds (bsb, nsync, etc), a few dvd movies, a photo cube (totally useless, but i didn't want to hear him complain, so i let him have it), and a few other misc things. i, on the other hand, grabbed a frame (which was new and only 1.99), an asian food container (also new), a rectangle glass container to hold my nail art(i'll post the finished product soon), a white flower vase (only 2.99), a wooded elephant, and an owl figurine. i love owls, and the elephant was super cute.

i actually spray painted the elephant and the owl white yesterday to go with the decor in my room.

i still need to do a second coat, and then they should be done. i love how paint can transform anything old into something new and modern.

the same day, i also went into ulta to get my free item. since it took me forever to finally go to ulta, there weren't that many choices left on the nail polishes, so i picked "fine pruned". which, i thought was a really nice color. i've been looking for something similar for my sister. anyway, i also got around to trimming my nails and finally using my new konad image plates i got a couple weeks ago.

i love the rose print. i wanted to do it over newspaper printed nails, but i couldn't find our rubbing alcohol. =(
the rose print is on the right one, image plate m65.

10 DAY Nail Challenge

Day1: A picture and the name of your favorite nail polish.

sally hansen's "certainly cherry". i've always loved this nail polish because it was the perfect shade of magenta/bright pink. its also one of the very first polishes i ever bought. i don't even know how old it is now.

feeling "peachy"..............

i've been obsessed with the coral color for spring/summer. i've been buying tops that color, and i finally found a nice nail polish in that coral family color. this is from revlon. its called "peachy". i love it. there's another shade that revlon has thats a bit darker but more sparkly. i also bought that shade too. can't remember the name of it right now.

it comes off a bit orange from the camera flash, but its a much prettier color in person.

the bf says i shop too much..............

its true. i do. i can't help it. shopping can be so therapeutic for me. i think its the satisfaction of getting something for such a great bargain. i don't know why he's complaining, when most of the time, i'm buying stuff for his place anyway. =)

here's what i got from various stores. i actually bought a whole bunch of frames for cheap too, but didn't take any photos.

marshalls actually had these "elf" products for $5.99, so i had to grab them.

also bought this coral/pink top from marshalls too. i think thats the new color for me this spring/summer. coral. so pretty.

i also got this candle holder from there for 4.99. oh wait, maybe it was from tj max? i can't remember. either way, i love the look of it. i've seen in a magazine decor spread, and i'm sure their version was way more expensive than mine.

purchased these items from target. i love target for clearancing off their stuff.

these shoes weren't on clearance, but i needed a pair of "nude" flats, and these were super cute. maybe i should've waited for the price to go down? i usually do, but decided to "splurge" on myself for once. they were $24.99, i think.

purchased these from sally's beauty supply. they were having a buy two, get one free.
since i renewed my membership, i received this ion moisture conditioner for free. it was anything ion under $7.99 for free.

purchased this chain and beads from michaels. i've been into trying to make jewelry. i have yet to make anything. too many hobbies, and not enough time. =( i'll post a photo once i'm done.

these items were also from michaels. i had "updated" my bf's bathroom, and these were  part of the redecorating. i really wish i had taken a before shot. =( anyway, i love the new look. so fresh and clean. maybe i'll take an after shot?

nail polish haul & new mani update

finally remembered to take a photo of the nail polishes i bought. =) i always forget to because i buy so many!
left to right: Revlon's Jaded, Sally Hansen's Golden Ticket, China Glaze (no name on bottle), China Glaze's Silver Lining, China Glaze's Heaven, China Glaze's Something Sweet, Sinful Color's Scandal, Sinful Color's Social Ladder, Sinful Color's Pink Forever, & Finger Paint's Sketchy Character.

i absolutely love the sinful color's social ladder. its a really pretty pearly cream that can go on top of any color and make it look pastel.

as for the new mani. it was inspired by spring. base coat is one of my favorites, china glaze's for audrey. also blinged it out with rhinestones. surprisingly they are still on my fingers after a week! usually one or two fall off already, because of my daily activities. i'm thinking its one of the top coats that i used to hold the rhinestones in place.

nail polishes and mani update

finally! a real update. i haven't been blogging on here much, because i don't have access to a computer when i'm over at my bf's. =( i do have the option of blogging through his phone, but i'm not about to sit for an hour trying to "type" with his phone keyboard. lol

anyway, here are some of my most recent manis:

these are my most recent purchases of nail polish:

i went to walgreens, and they were having a super sale! all the wet n wild polishes were only 49 cents! can't get any better than that. the rest were 99 cents to 1.99. then, the first one, was from ulta for 2.99. its china glaze's matte finish. will try that out sometime this week.
